Tai Chi Healing Case 2
Diabetes

I am 54 years old this year. I was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes during a physical examination in 1998. I have been suffering from the disease for more than 20 years. My fasting blood sugar was 7.8mmo1/L at the initial examination. I have tried many drugs, including Western medicine, Chinese medicine, and some folk remedies during drug treatment. However, my blood sugar has not been well controlled and I have some complications in my body - numbness of limbs, cold calves, blurred vision, less movement and laziness, weak bowel movements and constipation, poor sleep at night and later palpitations

In 2019, because my blood sugar remained high, I came to the Provincial People's Hospital for treatment. Experts recommended insulin + drug treatment, from 8 to 10 units of insulin at the beginning to 40 units of insulin now (20 units on an empty stomach in the morning and 20 units before dinner). In this way, the dosage of the drug increased, but the blood sugar was still getting higher and higher. I was really puzzled. During the physical examination in 2019, the fasting blood sugar was 17.7mmo1/L and the glycosylated hemoglobin was 10.2. Because of the long illness, my body joints also began to have some lesions. My friend (Fan Caiqin) happened to call me to say ‘hello’, so I told her about my physical condition. My friend recommended this set of exercises to me, standing Wuji Zhuang standing meditation and circumferential qigong(The Qi Circulation Techniques of Tai Chi)

She told me that an aunt who practiced with her also had high blood pressure and high blood sugar. Through practicing circumferential qigong and standing Wuji Zhuang, her blood pressure and blood sugar were controlled and returned to normal. So I started to learn this set of exercises with my friend on June 12, 2019.

The following are the results. After practicing for about a year, my body has obviously changed. The first change is that walking is easier and more comfortable than before and the previous heaviness in my legs has disappeared. Second, my sleep is better. Before, my sleep quality was not only poor, but I had to get up one or two times in the middle of the night. Third, the symptoms of palpitations are gone. Fourth, my bowel movements are smooth (previously once every two or three days, now once a day and it is formed and very regular).

Now the fasting blood sugar has dropped to 10mmo1/L, so I reduced the insulin dose by 2 units in the morning and evening. This has strengthened my confidence in practicing. I am more optimistic and practice the Qi circulation techniques of Taichi diligently.

I am grateful to the Tai Chi predecessors for creating such a good method and I am particularly grateful to Master Xue for passing it on and imparting it to the public without reservation.
